I’m running late, I have a PTA meeting tonight. I’m building a dunk tank for the school fair. Can I borrow some tools?
Are you delusional? You’ve never built anything in your life! And please remember that superglue and velcro are not tools.
If you want to meet a guy, you have to do guy things. Everyone knows guys build stuff! Wish me luck! Should I wear my strappy sandals or the red stilettos?
Watch out, Dotty is putting on another façade to meet a man. Remember what happened the last time? She wrote about it in her book, On the Spin Cycle. Tonight, she’s working on a building project at the school. You won’t believe what she has on: skin-tight jeans and bright red stiletto heels with a splash of“Come Hither” cologne. She doesn’t understand that if she wants to be loved for who she is: she has to be herself. That’s how I got the Lab next door. You’d never catch me in a pair of heels.

Ms. X is looking for a man again.
This time she’s helping the guys on a building project in the high school gym.
It’s hard to be single. But it’s harder to be married to Mr. WRONG. I don’t know why so many women rush into a new relationship after getting out of a bad one. I tell my clients to take their time, get to know themselves and then find someone who really is compatible. So many women go for the fake boobs, fake tans and fake persona. The fact that Ms. X is pretending to be interested in woodworking is par for the course. I once had a client who pretended to be rich to reel in a wealthy man. It worked. They got married and lived happily ever after… until the first round of bills were due and it became obvious that both had sported the same pretense.
I teach my clients to put their hands on their hearts and say, “I love you” before they go to sleep. When we learn to love and accept ourselves, we can find healthy, unconditional love.

On second thought, maybe I should get a pair heels. They make great chew toys. I’ll check them out at www.shoestores.com.
