It’s summer and it’s Monday! I want to go to the beach! I have my inflatable inner tube in my lunchbox just in case.
I’m trying to change my attitude toward Mondays, by keeping a “What I Love about Mondays” notebook.
Here are a few of my observations:
Monday begins with the letter ‘M,’ and the letter ‘M’ is a nice letter.
Monday is the first day of the week and it is always nice to be first.
Monday is a great day to make plans for Saturday.
Monday is the one day that I can count on everyone else to be miserable too.
Oh dear, there I go getting negative! I need your help—can you help me write my What I Love about Mondays journal?
I’d love to help. Perhaps you could rename the journal: What I Love about Saturdays. It is easy to be sincerely grateful for Saturdays! If it must be Monday, I guess I’d have to say: My Great Aunt Louise was born on a Monday and I do love Louise!
My client, Ms. X has black-and-white thinking again—most of my clients do. They think of things as all bad or all good. Ms. X is forgetting that not all Mondays are created equal. For example Labor Day is a Monday! So is Memorial Day! Sometimes Christmas falls on a Monday! I eat chocolate on Monday. Friday I force vegetables- gotta get in shape for the weekend. But, Monday is a great day for chocolate!
Dotty’s Mom
Dotty is trying to think of something good about Monday and all of her friends are missing the point. Monday is like any other day. Every morning when I wake up, I get to choose. I can be happy or I can gripe and complain. I look for the opportunity to have fun and to laugh everyday!
Dotty is trying to find something good to write about Mondays. I don’t get it. Do you?
Monday is the best day of the week! People barbecue on Sunday. And that makes Monday an excellent day to dumpster dive. I think I’ll ask the lab next door!

Everyday to create is a great day. Another day in paradise . . . even on Monday.
Dotty, passionately embrassing the art world may make Mondays exhilarating!!
Hey Dotty, this past Monday was a great day to catch Paul McCartney play in Nashville! Of course, it made for a very long and tired Tuesday.
How fun! Clearly Nashville Rocks!
